Nicely written. I too have just moved overseas and was offline for two weeks. I struggled at first to make this situation work- but soon found that i was not as popular as expected with only a handful of "meaningful" emails a day and no great urgency to sit online!

What i did miss was the ability to do internet banking and the general "lets look up a plumber" kind of thing.

Internet cafes that allowed me to plug in my macbook solved the banking problem- and the local community centre that had PC access (yes PCS!!) solved the email problem.

Now i'm back online though- its just "easier".

God bless the interwebs.
